WEDDING RING WORKSHOP

since 2011

The most symbolic part of a wedding ceremony is putting the rings on each other’s fingers. Now imagine: you made those rings.

In the Wedding Ring Workshop, I’ll take you through each step of the process, from starting with a piece of gold, to leaving the session with your handmade wedding bands, ready for the aisle.

No experience necessary. You’ll be given instructions and demonstrations throughout the process.

You choose the materials, the dimensions, and the look of the rings. I’ll show you how to make that vision come to life, one step at a time.

You’ll leave the Wedding Ring Workshop with perfectly-fitting rings, the shared experience of creating them together, and your new family’s first heirlooms.

Be a part of the new tradition, and make rings infused with meaning and memories that would never come with a store-bought ring.

Scroll down to see a gallery of rings that have been made by people just like you, and to read the frequently asked questions.

If you’re ready to handcraft your wedding bands, or just want to know more of the particulars, use the form at the bottom of the page to contact me. I’ll be in touch with you soon.

Wedding Ring Workshop FAQ

I’ve never done any jewelry making before, is that OK? Yep! No experience  necessary. I’ll walk you through each step of the process.

How many people are in the session? These are private sessions, so the workshop is just the couple and I.

When is the next workshop? We schedule the session for whatever date works for both the couple and me.

What kind of rings can we make? You have all kinds of choices, from the shape of the ring stock, to the width, to the texture and finish of the ring. For an additional fee, you can even make a ring with wood in it.

Where do the sessions take place? In my sunny, plant-filled studio in Abington, MA.

What kind of metal can we use? At the Wedding Ring Workshop you can make rings out of any color or karat gold (including white gold palladium), or silver. Sorry, no platinum or titanium.

How do I know what a certain ring width will look like on my finger?   I will send you a document that you can print. It has several different ring widths on it that you can cut out and wrap around your finger.

I don’t know my ring size, how can I find that out? No problem. We will determine your ring size the day of the session, and get a perfect fit.

Can I add stones to my band? Yes, but because stone setting is a more advanced skill, I do that part. You will make the band to completion the day of the session and I’ll set the stones at a later date and then ship or deliver the ring to you (there is an additional fee for this).

Can we make each other’s rings? Definitely! Most couples do. How sweet is that?

Can we take the rings home that day? Yes! You will make your rings to completion on the day of your session.

Can we engrave the rings? Yes you can. I recommend keeping the inscription fairly simple, likes dates and initials.
